“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
1 Peter 1:3 (NIV)
There are so many reasons for us to praise God. We can be around him enough that sometimes he becomes familiar and we forget how incredible he is. Just consider for a moment how unbelievable our God is.
Outside of his working in your life through his own Son and Spirit, you would be lost in rebellion towards him-outright defiance and revolt. He made us and loves us, but we cheat on him. We are of immense value because we bear his image, yet we clamber for control and the final word on who we are and what is best for us. How would you respond if you were God?
God gave more and Jesus took the consequences of our rebellion and instead gave us new birth into a living hope. Not a sentimental hope. Not an idealistic hope. A living hope because Jesus lives and we’re with him. He is ours and we are his. Our hope is alive. Does the hope you have need to come alive within you?
