“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.”

When something bad happens to us, it can be easy to take a blaming posture towards God: “God, how could you let this happen to me?” Have you ever considered all the things God hasn’t allowed to happen? Jesus tells us to expect troubles in this life and we aren’t consumed by them because God loves us. His compassion for us and his mercy towards us never runs out. They’re new each and every day.
Dwell on the thought that God has an unending supply of compassion for you. He has an inexhaustible amount of mercy to show you. The more clearly we see God for who he is, the better we will be able to be his man or his woman because our view of God shapes everything. Is this the view you have of God?
One way to help shape this is to start seeing the mercies God gives us each day. For this week set a notepad or journal by your bedside and each day when you wake up take 5 minutes to write down what blessings come to mind that God has given you.
