“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)

Our culture can make it really easy to feel like you’re crazy to submit yourself to Jesus and follow him. It can feel like you’re the only one or like you’re just wasting your time. What a strong encouragement from the apostle Paul here—stand firm. Let nothing move you. Your labor is not in vain.

As you memorize this verse this week, maybe you can begin to use any feelings of discouragement with your faith as a reminder to let nothing move you. Maybe this can be a new mantra for you, “I know the truth. I know that Jesus is on the throne, and I am with him so I can stand firm.”

Paul is encouraging us to give ourselves fully to the Lord and what he’s up to because it’s worth it. Keep going! You can do it!
