“Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”
Mark 12:31 (NIV)

Last week’s 52 Challenge verses were Jesus’ response when asked, what’s the number one commandment in the entire Bible? Jesus said the most important thing is loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. Then, he quickly adds this verse.

Love God and love people. It’s important to remember that love is an action and a choice, not just an emotion. What does it look like for you to love your neighbor as yourself? For some of us, we treat our neighbors way better than we do ourselves and this command might mean learning to be kinder and more gracious to ourselves. For others, we might need to think of ourselves less and start taking steps to intentionally care, invest in, and support our neighbors.

What steps do you need to take to love your neighbor as yourself? Who comes to mind when you consider this verse? Start with them.
